I made a big mistake in my business when I first started.
I relied on myself to know all there was to know about running a business and because of this misstep, my business and my mindset suffered.
Luckily, after some real frustrating moments and talks with God...I realized I had to stop that habit real quick because it was doing nothing more than holding me back from success.
Today, I want to remind you to stop allowing that mindset to hold you back too.
If you’re growing a business or a brand, you have to realize that you don’t know everything.
Learning things and becoming the business owner and person you want to be, comes by seeking out information. One thing I see a lot of people doing, and what I did, is not appreciating the fact that one book can change your entire perspective on life, your outlook on things, or give you valuable knowledge on how to work smarter and not harder—and I will never take that for granted again!
This year, I’ve been blessed to delve further into reading and empowering my mind more than I ever have. I’ve been given the time to read for understanding and for developing myself as a person/business owner and it’s changed so much within me that I wanted to share that gift.
Here are some books I highly recommend for self-development:
Covering 13 principles, this book will teach you how to control impulses that are fueled by passion so that you can make clearer decisions with strategic backing.
Learn how to become a millionaire in your current financial state. Although it’s not specifically written for entrepreneurs, these groundbreaking techniques can be applied throughout your life.
As a student of Rachel’s, I was already a *little* biased about this book, but you still have to give it its due! Rachel encourages you to stop thinking small. Because if you start small, you’ll stay small. This book goes on to give you things you can apply to your life right now and empowers you to believe in yourself and have faith!
We all grew up thinking that the harder we work the more we’d make and this book corrects that lie. You’ll learn how to dream, have the life you want, and adopt principles so you don’t have to work as hard. In truth, the less you work, the more you’ll make.
You all know I couldn’t skip my own book! I share so much knowledge and tales of triumph in this book, alongside other women, that I know it’ll inspire you to accomplish the great things that are already within you. I share about being kicked out of nursing school and getting a divorce, while other nurses share how they regained their power after obstacles. It’s truly life-changing, so don’t sleep on this one!
Even if you’ve already read these before, I recommend reading them again because where you were in life when you first read the book may be different from where you are now and you interpret things differently after you’ve had certain experiences.
I’d also recommend buying a hard copy and listening to the books on Audible because sometimes we need to absorb things in different ways.
Remember: Getting to success is not as hard we make it… YOU are the creator of your reality and YOU can create that reality by learning from those who are doing exactly what you want to do.
Comment below and let me know your thoughts once you’ve had a chance to go through some of these. And also feel free to respond with any recommendations! I love learning about what else is out there.
